Wine, spirits, cocktails and beer aren’t an afterthought at One Fifth. They’re essential.
Wine director Matthew Pridgen has created his fourth wine list for One Fifth. The Gulf Coast list features wines from around the world, with an emphasis on white, sparkling and lighter reds. Coming off the Mediterranean concept that featured wines from lesser known wine regions in the Mediterranean, guests will certainly find this list more "recognizable" with an increase in domestic wines. There are still be plenty of options for the adventurous palates out there, as we always have something fun and different to try, no matter the concept.
The cocktail menu, created by Underbelly Hospitality beverage director Westin Galleymore, takes a more casual turn, focusing on lighter-style cocktails and riffs on Southern classics and party drinks. Twists on a Hurricane, Hand Grenade, Ranch Water and Texas Tea found their way onto the menu. There is also a list of bottled cocktails—fast, easy and fun. The "Matagorda Booze Cruise" is a choice of 5 bottled cocktails served in an iced-down bucket for the table. Of course, such a festive order is accompanied by Champagne—well, the Champagne of beers (Miller High Life).
